Q: When and where is the festival happening?
A: Holyhead Festival will be held at Newry Beach in Holyhead on the last full weekend in July.
Q: Is the festival family-friendly?
A: Absolutely! Holyhead Festival is for everyone — from kids to grandparents. There are activities for all ages, including rides, games, and performances for younger audiences.
Q: Do I need a ticket to attend?
A: Entry to Holyhead Festival is free for all! Some attractions, rides, or special events may have separate charges, but the main festival grounds and entertainment are open to everyone. There are separate events each evening that require a ticket for entry. These events are paid and are advertised on our posters and the "What's On" page.
Q: Are there any VIP or reserved seating options?
A: NO
Q: Where is the festival located?
A: The festival takes place at Newry Beach, right by the stunning Holyhead waterfront.
Q: Is parking available?
A: Limited parking is available near the festival grounds. We recommend walking, cycling, or using local transport if possible to help ease congestion.

A: Yes! Holyhead is well-served by buses and trains. The main station is just a short walk from the festival site.

Q: Can I bring my own food or drinks?
A: You’re welcome to bring your own food and soft drinks, but please note that alcohol, glass bottles, and BBQs are not permitted. There will be plenty of food stalls, drink vendors, and tasty treats available on-site! Inside the Marquee, no outside alcohol or soft drinks are allowed, as we have our own bar. Glass bottles are prohibited throughout the entire festival grounds.
Q: Will there be toilets?
A: Yes, we have accessible toilets throughout the site.
Q: Is the festival accessible for people with disabilities?
A: We’re committed to making Holyhead Festival accessible. There are accessible entrances, toilets, and viewing areas. If you need assistance, our staff will be happy to help. The festival is mainly on grassed areas.
Q: What happens if it rains?
A: The show goes on — rain or shine! Check the forecast and dress for the weather. Wellies and ponchos encouraged 🌧️☀️
Q: Will there be security?
A: Yes. Our team of friendly security staff will be on-site throughout the event to ensure everyone’s safety. Bag checks may be in place at entrances. We also have CCTV throughout the festival.
Q: Are Dogs Allowed?
A: Yes, dogs are welcome at the Holyhead Festival! However, please note that dogs are not allowed inside the marquee. The only exception to this is for guide dogs, who are permitted inside the marquee area.
We ask that all dog owners keep their pets on a lead and clean up after them to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
