Meet The team

 David Hughes, fondly known as "Davy" to many in the local community, serves as the Chairman of the Holyhead Festival. His strong leadership and unwavering commitment have been central to the festival’s ongoing success, helping to bring people together and celebrate the town’s vibrant culture. In addition to his role with the festival, David is also actively involved with Holyhead Hotspur Football Club, where he works as the Clubhouse Coordinator and Steward. He is well-known for his passion for supporting local causes and raising awareness around mental health, often drawing on his own experiences to help others. David’s dedication, resilience, and community spirit make him a highly respected and valued figure in Holyhead. 

 Craig Jones is the Vice Chairman of the Holyhead Festival and plays a vital role in the planning and smooth running of this much-loved community event. His enthusiasm and strong organisational skills help ensure the festival continues to grow and bring joy to both residents and visitors. In addition to his work with the festival, Craig is actively involved in other local initiatives, including serving as the Sales Officer for the Holyhead Round Table. His dedication to community service and his passion for bringing people together make him a highly regarded and respected member of the Holyhead community. 

  Alan Williams is a dedicated community leader in Holyhead, Anglesey, known for his extensive service in both civic and charitable roles. Elected to Holyhead Town Council in May 2017, representing the Porth Y Felin Ward, he was appointed Mayor of Holyhead in May 2019. Alan previously worked as Port Manager at the Port of Holyhead and retired from the role in 2022 after over 40 years of service. In addition to his many roles, he is the Treasurer of the Holyhead Festival, where he plays a key part in organising and overseeing the event’s finances. He is also actively involved in several community organisations, including serving as a director for North Wales Heritage Group Ltd. and South Stack Ynys Lawd Ltd. His commitment to community service was especially evident when he helped organise a virtual Holyhead Festival in 2020 to raise funds for St David’s Hospice ward at Ysbyty Penrhos Stanley. 

 Susan Condra has held many roles throughout her career, contributing her extensive experience in community development and organisational leadership. She is currently a Council Worker and the Secretary of the Holyhead Festival. In her previous positions, Susan was the General Manager of the London Road Community Centre in Holyhead, where she oversaw a variety of local programmes and services, including a community café, gym, IT suite, and event spaces. She has also been actively involved in initiatives such as the Morawelon and London Road Community Regeneration Partnership, where she worked to enhance local engagement and development. Her commitment to community enrichment and her organisational skills continue to make her an invaluable asset to the Holyhead Festival team. 

 Shabeer Ghani, affectionately known as "Shabs," is an Executive Board Member of the Holyhead Festival, where he contributes his expertise in event planning and community engagement. Beyond his role with the festival, Shabeer is the founder and managing director of Dragon Security, a family-owned security firm based in Holyhead. With over 17 years of experience, Dragon Security has grown from providing specialist services for pubs and clubs to offering a comprehensive range of security solutions across various sectors, including event security for local festivals such as the Holyhead Festival . Additionally, Shabeer serves as the Programme, Social & Dinner Officer for the Holyhead Round Table, further demonstrating his commitment to community service and local initiatives .​ 

Robert Williams is an Executive Board Member of the Holyhead Festival, where he contributes his extensive experience in event planning and community engagement. In 2019, he explored the possibility of introducing a beer festival to Holyhead, demonstrating his proactive approach to enhancing local events . Beyond his role with the festival, Robert is the Director of WOW Training, an independent company based in Holyhead that offers a range of health and safety courses across the UK . His commitment to community development and safety education makes him a valuable asset to the Holyhead Festival team. 

 Robert Henderson, hailing from Rhyl, is a valued member of our Executive Board. With deep roots in the community and a strong background in leadership, Robert brings a wealth of experience and insight to the team. His commitment to excellence and strategic vision have made him an integral part of our decision-making process. Known for his thoughtful approach and dedication, Robert continues to play a key role in shaping the direction of our organization and supporting its long-term goals. 

 Karen Weeks is our dedicated Bar Manager, known for her exceptional leadership and warm, welcoming presence. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for great service, Karen ensures the bar runs smoothly and efficiently, creating a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere for all our guests. Her strong work ethic, organizational skills, and ability to build strong relationships with both staff and patrons make her an invaluable part of our team. Karen’s commitment to quality and consistency helps maintain the high standards we’re proud of.
